The Dutch Meat Products Association (VNV) is an effective organisation that represents the interests of employers in the Dutch meat processing industry, both at national and international level. Members of the VNV jointly represent 85% of all Dutch turnover in the meat processing industry. Expressed in monetary terms, this amounts to an annual turnover of about one billion Euros.
Joining forces
By joining forces and expertise, companies can also assume a strong position via the VNV when negotiating with other parties in the chain, the government, the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority and various other stakeholders and labor organisations. We are a member of Clitravi, the European association for the meat processing industry (www.clitravi.eu). The latter performs an important role in representing interests at European level and in the information exchange to and from Brussels.
Comprehensive information
Membership of the VNV offers your company a wide range of practical benefits and services. It also offers members a platform for interesting meetings and contacts with colleagues within the sector. Our members’ network contains a wealth of information and expertise about the numerous areas of policy in which we are active.
Wide area of focus
As a producer of meat products you will be confronted by many problems on a daily basis. Although company employees may resolve such problems some of the time, most companies often lack the time and manpower to resolve all encountered issues. The VNV has the expertise and manpower needed to assist you in such circumstances. Thanks to contacts with policy-makers at various ministries and other government departments, like the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, potential problems can be identified and eliminated at an early stage.
Support for members
Members of the VNV can rely on support and expertise from the secretariat. This also includes general support from our advisor on labour issues. For instance, to help companies resolve Collective Wage Agreement related problems. Members of the VNV can also use the umbrella agreements we have established for our members like Risk Plaza. This database identifies risks in their ingredients and raw materials and helps companies to control them.
